Sony issues worldwide battery recall

After four major notebook manufacturers issued their own recalls of Sony batteries, Sony finally gives up the ghost and announces a global recall of all Sony-manufactured lithium-ion batteries.

The issue that begun when a Dell notebook computer burst into flames turned the tide about battery quality. Soon, Sony started to recall their own batteries. Apple and Lenovo jumped in. Toshiba also recalls over 840,000 batteries. Toshiba made the recall announcement on last Friday.
